February 14, 2026 Griffins Persevere, Benson and Harris Slay Knights in Overtime Aston, Pa. – (2/14/2026) – Gwynedd Mercy University (17-6, 10-2) visited Neumann University (14-9, 6-6) for this afternoon’s Atlantic East Conference (AEC) contest and delivered a dramatic one-point finish with a 75-74 overtime victory. The Griffins entered halftime with a seven-point lead, 33-26 (0:08), thanks to a jumper from senior guard Devin Benson (Williamstown, N.J.) (32-26, 0:08). Benson kept his hot hand in the second half, where graduate guard Dylan Harris (Bloomsburg, Pa.) helped him shoot the Gwynedd Mercy through a 65-65 (0:08) regulation, and senior guard Jalen Snead (Philadelphia, Pa.) facilitated overtime glory.
February 11, 2026 Griffins Hand Saints First AEC Loss in Road Thriller Arlington, Va. – (2/11/2026) – Gwynedd Mercy University (16-6, 9-2) earned a well fought 61-57 Atlantic East Conference (AEC) victory on the road over Marymount University (13-8, 10-1), handing the Saints their first conference loss of the season. The affair featured nine lead changes and five ties, but late-game defense and free throws secured the Griffins victory. Sophomore guard Bruce Smith (Philadelphia, Pa.) led the Griffins with 14 points, four rebounds, and a block, while senior guard D.J. Johnson (Norristown, Pa.) factored in with 12 points, seven rebounds, four assists, a block, and a steal.
February 7, 2026 Griffins Rally and Dominate Overtime for AEC Win over Mighty Macs Gwynedd Valley, Pa. – (2/7/2026) – Gwynedd Mercy University (15-6, 8-2) used a late second half rally and dominated overtime in a thrilling 81-72 Atlantic East Conference (AEC) victory over Immaculata University (4-17, 3-7). The Griffins trailed 40-36 at the break, but battled back with a 36-point second half that saw senior guard Jake Okon (Yonkers, N.Y.) deliver the lead with a three pointer at 11:44, 53-52, and junior guard Mazen Sayed (Chichester, Pa.) force overtime with another clutch three with just two second remaining; 66-66 (0:02). The Red and Gold ended it early in overtime, scoring the first nine point of the period behind their senior captains Jalen Snead (Philadelphia, Pa.) and D.J. Johnson (Norristown, Pa.). Snead led four Griffins in double figures with a game-high 24 points; Johnson (17 points), graduate guard Dylan Harris (Bloomsburg, Pa.) (15), and Sayed (11) were the others.
February 4, 2026 Explosive Second Half Propels Griffin Past Pacers Gwynedd Valley, Pa. – (2/4/2026) – Gwynedd Mercy University (14-6, 7-2) dominated the second half of this evening's Atlantic East Conference (AEC) affair as they transformed a 44-37 (0:04) halftime spread to a 94-69 (0:02) victory over Marywood University (11-9, 4-5). The Griffins started the game with a 12-point run (12-0, 15:48) and never loosened their hold as senior guard D.J. Johnson (Norristown, Pa.) was influential with a game - and career - high 23 points, 10 rebounds for his second career double-double, three assists, and three steals. Johnson was one of four Griffins in double figures; sophomore guard Bruce Smith (Philadelphia, Pa.) paired his 12 points with seven rebounds, senior guard Jalen Snead (Philadelphia, Pa.) was everywhere with 11 points, four rebounds, five assists, two blocks, and four steals, while senior guard Jake Okon (Yonkers, N.Y.) chimed in with three threes (3-for-3, 1.000) in a 11-point effort.
January 31, 2026 Griffins Secure Half Dozen AEC Wins with Decided Victory over Cannoneers Gwynedd Valley, Pa. - (1/28/2026) – Gwynedd Mercy University (13-6, 6-2) was in control of tonight's Atlantic East Conference (AEC) affair with Pratt Institute (10-9, 2-6) from the opening tip and they built on a 43-39 (0:38) halftime lead with a decisive 41-28 second half; the result was an 84-67 league victory for the Red and Gold. Graduate guard Dylan Harris (Bloomsburg, Pa.) scored 16 of his 23 points in the first half; the Griffins captain hit four of his six threes (6-of-7, .857) in the opening period while also finishing with a team-high seven rebounds. Senior guard D.J. Johnson (Norristown, Pa.) finished the contest with 15 points, six rebounds, five assists, and three steals.
January 28, 2026 Griffins Run Out of Time in AEC Fray with Saints Gwynedd Valley, Pa. - (1/28/2026) - Gwynedd Mercy University (12-6, 5-2) ran out of time in tonight's Atlantic East Conference (AEC) home game versus Marymount University (10-7, 7-0) as the Griffins rallied from a 50-42 (9:14) second-half deficit to briefly lead, 59-58 (1:33), before relying on the outcome of a last-second heave. Unfortunately, senior guard D.J. Johnson (Norristown, Pa.) never really had a chance with two Saint defender draped all over his last-second shot of the 60-59 (0:27) final. Sophomore guard Bruce Smith (Philadelphia, Pa.) was around the basket all night as he finished the contest with 18 points, seven rebounds, an assist, and two steals. Off the bench, junior guard Mazen Sayed (Chichester, Pa.) overcame a poor shooting night (2-of-10, .200) with a perfect performance at the free throw line (6-of-6, 1.000), three rebounds, and an assist.
